Yes. Use it frequently as a general purpose lens on my D700. The handling and IQ of the Tamron are outstanding. The newer version Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8... expensive 24-70mm f/2.8. I think the Sigma is better than the Tamron -- faster...

Hi Armando, The Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD is fully compatible... consider the Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G ED IF AF-S VR or the Tamron SP 17-50mm f/2.8... range on a DX body than the 24-70mm or 28-70mm....

The Nikon 24-120 f4 version (not either of the f 3.5-5,6 versions) is an excellent lens. One stop slower doesn't bother me, but the DOF of f2.8 could be important. I have rented a Sigma 24-105 f4 that is every bit as good ...
