The 35-70 f2.8 is an excellent lens. I don't know anything about the Tokina 28-80. Hedley...

er... just priced the 28-70 online... GULP! So, the 35-70 it is then!:) $2400+ Cdn vs $1086.37 Cdn!...

The 35-70 now goes into the F100 bag and is my people lens. The 28-70 is into the F5 bag. Have yet to really use it....

Nothing at all wrong with the 35-70. It really is one great lens. Rotating front element some people jump up & down about but sheeesh, you can't have everything!:)...

The 35-70 is a screw drive lens, the others AFS. AF speed and lock difference wouldn't surprise me a bit....

whilst I love my 35-70 f2.8 I would also recommend the 20-35mm f2.8. Also great value for money......

Albert I also have a 62-77 ring, but does it really give you enough shade from the glare on the 35-70? Otherwise I like the idea....
