I use a Kirk MPA-2 on my Gitzo GM3551. The MPA-2 is rated to hold ~80lbs. Granted I do not have a 500mm lens to try it with, but it does seem rather stout and holds my 70-200mm f/2.8 with no issues. The Markins Q3...

Bill I have a Sirui carbon fiber Monopod and I find it is of excellent quality but I can't speak on their ball heads I've never seen one. I am a fan of Markins, I have a Q3 on my monopod and a M10 on my tripod both...

Agree & thanks!. The MPA-2 is about .8" shorter as is compared to my Kirk BH-1. On the tripod (3532LS with Markins M20), I usually mount a Wimberley SideKick and that adds to the height as well. I will factor in and review...
