I saw in a thread below a recommendation for this tripod for travel. Does anyone who has this tripod know whether a Markins Q-10 head would work with it or do you need to buy a Sirui head? I'm looking for something smaller...

After purchasing a Markins M10, TB-20, and GT2530 quite a few years back I never gave much thought to my tripod as my other gear evolved... considering the upgrade. I'll likely stick with Markins as I've been very happy...

the Markins Tripod Hub TH-500. (www.markinsamerica.com/MA5/TH.php?req=TH500) The Markins hub makes the tripod more compact when folded....

in this forum (Kirk, Markins, RRS,,,,etc) with dedicated plates that there were metal not cork/rubber. So then looking at the recommended Markins heads...

the Kirk base plate(similar to the Markins TB-20), but the leg diameter... but my XLS has the Markins TH-300 hub fitted and weighs in at about 1/4 lb...
