28-105 works well on the D70, but I am getting the kit lens for the D70... to the D70 with no regrets. Although he does miss the "built like a tank" construction and battery grip, the benefits of the D70 far outweigh the drawbacks...

I hear ya Bartman. I just can't justify having to pay even more money for a hobby that has already cost so much. I guess I am just too cheap! :) I want to thank everyone again for posting. Enjoy the D70, I am sure...

For about 3 years I use a F5 and last friday I bought a D70 kit... I use the 24-120 but I didn't want to use it with the D70 because I work... 28-105 with the D70 if you're not working with both camera's at the same time...

I switched from F80 to D70. No regrets at all. I do miss ultra-wide some times and the resolution obviously isn't up to film standards, but these are offset by the increased telephoto range and the infinitely tweakable RAW...

A lot of people have gone from the F/N80 to the D70 (myself included) and we are generally a very happy bunch :D I don't think you will see a nikon... of it's functionality with the D70 (ie. metering) but viewfinder gridlines...

not to include dTTL support in the D70, but the change from dTTL to iTTL was due... flash anyway. My SB28DX is a great flash and works fine with the D70... regret for a moment the decision to go with the D70....
