Okay, well I'm probably not getting one since I have a D300 but I can look right? Just wondering why the D700 does not have a CF door lever? It's just going to open like my old D80? Is that "weather sealed"? Just...

I totally agree, the new sensor in the d700 is cool, but at twice the price is certainly not twice the camera. I'll stick with by beloved d300 for a few more years....

I have the D3 and D300 with MB-D10 - enough for now - so D700? forget it - wait for a D3X? Perhaps. - The race will stop somewhere or we will all be taking medium format with 35mm. !!!...

For what it's worth , I have both the D300 and the D700 and I see little to no difference between them as far as focus is concerned . Image quality , yes , focus , no ....

the D300 and D700. Where the D700 will have a clear advantage in low light use. It will be an advance for a wedding photographer,for example. the D300... Why would you cross the D300 off your list? For 90% of the photos taken...

, the similarity of design and control layout of the D700 and D300 might outweigh any other factors. Also, the D700 and D300 can share CF cards... I think I might hold out for a D700. That's not because of any failings...

Jerry, I did a series of comparative shots of the D300 and D700. You can find them as well as some other shots with the D700 in low light at http... and the ISO level. This is why you buy a D700. Not outdoor shots...

I have both cameras. I have noticed no difference in speed of AF betwen the D300 and the D700. The D700 appears to be little more than a full frame version of the D300, but it is an awesome camera. Can't say I've done...
