My M10 has the same pin preventing plates from sliding out. It is removable, but I wouldn't recommend doing that. I have not found an alternative to fully opening the clamp. I hadn't noticed I had to do that until your post ...

Hi Doug, I have been using RRS and Kirk L-Brackets and RRS, Kirk, and Wimberly Plates and Accessories with Markins and RRS Lever Clamps and Markins, RRS, Kirk, and Wimberly Screw Clamps and they all worked perfectly...

Hi Barb, I have RRS, Kirk, and Wimberly Plates and L-Brackets and they All fit perfectly in my Markins Lever Clamps, Screw Clamps, as well as RRS Lever Clamps and Screw Clamps....

Hi Barbara, In addition to a Markins L-Bracket, both Really Right Stuff and Kirk L-Brackets will fit perfectly in your Markins Ballhead....

as if it might have been a bit deeper than the one on the Markins... for sure. Markins (and it appears Sirui as well) went for a different approach... all the way as with the Markins)....

Hi Clark, I have a few Markins Lever Clamps and Several RRS Lever Clamps and use them interchangeably. They are both very well made and extremely strong....
