Do you mean 400/3.5 ED. The only Nikon 400/4.5 is an earlier lens and not ED. I have a 400/3.5 ED. I can't see any way to remove the collar. In my opinion a 400/3.5 with out a collar is a a sign of abuse. I'd pass. ...

Ah thank you Carmen, I will have a look for them I’m sure I’ll be able to find someone that ships to the UK. Thank you for the feedback on the lens as well, good to have knowledge from someone who has used it. :-) ...

Oh I’m glad you mentioned it! It’s actually a f/5.6 not 4.5! It’s an Ais lens and listed as ED but I can’t see ED on the lens, on the photos I can just see Nikon. And other clues that would point to being an ED? ...
