Really nice images, Gavin, although after looking a them now my arms are tired! :-) I wonder if some vignetting would focus the viewer on the kayakers without the need to darken the background quite so much? ...

I've run into the same issue with focus peaking blocking the subject in these obstructed situations. The Focus Peaking highlights linger until I touch the shutter or focus button - and then I have to start over with peaking ...

Without having changed a thing the camera is now behaving. I think it was because I was shooting in a light but steady drizzle for hours. I think water did something. After drying out it is fine. I will not test its water ...
